What do we bring to the desert?
Burning Man is built by the people who show up and create it. But what happens when more of us come to consume the experience than contribute to it?
Are You a Vulture? turns that question into a physical encounter: the familiar figure of the Man lies broken on the playa as three massive vultures gather around it. The work is meant to spark reflection, conversation, and maybe a little discomfort—not to tell anyone what to think.
Built to be encountered.
A large-scale sculptural scene in steel and composite materials, designed to feel both monumental and strangely familiar.

Concept artwork developed with AI-assisted visualization under the artist's direction. Final fabrication details may evolve.
I'm a metal fabricator, welder, and artist with over 30 years of experience bringing ideas to life through steel and sculpture. Through my company, Fused Metals by Stone, I've built everything from custom metalwork to large-scale art cars and installations.
I've been part of the Burning Man community since 2010, and it's been a big part of my creative life.
Are You a Vulture? is something a little different for me. It's not about telling people what to think. It's about creating something that makes people stop, look, and maybe ask themselves a question.

Art doesn't build itself.
This project is in development for 2027. Design refinement, scale models, fabrication planning, and fundraising are underway.
Support can take many forms: fabrication expertise, materials, transportation, logistics, creative collaboration, and financial contributions when a fundraising campaign is ready.
